In Memory of Doug Weigum

I was invited into Doug and Lorraine’s life during the last couple of weeks of Doug’s life. Doug was a baptized child of God’s for whom God had sent His only Son to live, die and rise for.

Although we can never truly plan for our dying, to have the comfort and assurance of our salvation through faith in Jesus Christ can carry us as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death. To have heard every week the good news of Christ in the preaching of the Word and to receive the comfort of the body and blood of Christ for our forgiveness is such strength for these times. To be surrounded by the prayers and presence of the members of Christ’s body lifts us to face this final battle and to know that we are not alone.
